The Real Estate Society will hold its first meeting of the semester from 11:45 a.m. to 1 p.m. today, Thursday, Feb. 25, in Room 116, McNeely Hall.
Leading the discussion will be Jon Yanta, a University of St. Thomas alumnus (finance and marketing) and senior vice president of brokerage services at NorthMarq.
A commercial real estate professional, Yanta will discuss his position at NorthMarq, a company that provides individuals and institutions nationwide with services such as property management, corporate solutions, brokerage services and investment services. He also will talk about his career path and life post-graduation, and offer advice to those in attendance.
Yanta joined NorthMarq in 1997 as a suburban industrial specialist in sales and leasing. His strong belief in loyalty and teamwork has allowed him to build many long-term professional and client relationships over his 22-year career.
Before joining NorthMarq he worked at Koll Real Estate (formerly the Shelard Group), where he consistently received awards such as City Business’ 40-Under-40, Salesman of the Month, Top Five Club and the Brokerage Eagle Award. He began his career in 1986 with CB Commercial, where he received both the Rookie of the Year and AVIS awards.
An avid civic contributor, Yanta frequently speaks with his wife, Kalley, on prayer; works with youth groups; and participates in community fundraising efforts.
