Rock the Garden Project Will Show Where St. Thomas Business Students 'are Making a Difference'

Whether it’s biking to work in Minneapolis or creating a business plan for a family in Mexico, University of St. Thomas business students are making a difference.

To commemorate their efforts, St. Thomas’ Opus College of Business has launched a “Where Will You Make a Difference” fundraising initiative to debut at the June 18 Rock the Garden concert.

Participants who tell their stories of creating positive change will also generate a donation to a nonprofit organization.

Rock-the-Garden-graphicSt. Thomas students, faculty, staff and alumni have been invited to share how they have given back by posting their stories on Opus College of Business social media pages or via email. Each entry results in a $1 donation to one of three charities: Kiva, First Book or Feed My Starving Children (up to $15,000).

The compiled submissions will be placed on world and local maps to show the range of contributions from the St. Thomas community. The maps will be displayed at Rock the Garden in the Opus College of Business tent, where attendees will be invited to add to the map and supplement contributions to the nonprofit organizations.

As an incentive to share their stories, participants who submit responses before June 14 will be entered in a drawing to win tickets to the sold-out Rock the Garden concert.
