See 'Shakespeare on the Screen' each month

The St. Thomas Literary Club and Sigma Tau Delta will host "Shakespeare on the Screen," a monthly showing of a Shakespearean play adapted for film.

This month's feature, "Titus," will be screened at 7 p.m. tomorrow, Oct. 20, in 3M Auditorium of Owens Science Hall. It's free. Everyone's welcome.

"Titus," directed by Julie Taymor in 1999, stars Anthony Hopkins as Titus Andronicus and Jessica Lange as Tamora. It was nominated for several film awards, including a 2000 Academy Award nomination for costume design. It is based on what is thought to be Shakespeare's earliest tragedy, "The Most Lamentable Roman Tragedy of Titus Andronicus," which dates to the 1590s.

The film is rated R for strong violence and sexual images.
