Senior Class Gift Committee to Meet Nov. 2

Seniors are invited to join the Senior Class Gift Committee to help plan the 2011 class gift and the legacy they will leave at the University of St. Thomas. The committee meets for an hour once a month to discuss what to support and then creates a giving strategy and marketing plan to promote the campaign and raise funds for the gift.

The next meeting will be held at 9:15 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 2, in Room 106, McNeely Hall. All seniors are invited to attend.

The Senior Class Gift has been a tradition at St. Thomas for more than 30 years. Some graduating classes have funded scholarships for future students; the class of 2010 funded a scholarship (raising more than $35,000) to help students attend VISION trips. The John Ireland statue (now in storage awaiting a new location) was a gift from the class of 1986. Other classes have chosen to beautify the campus by purchasing trees for the grounds.

More information about the 2011 Senior Class Gift, and the record-breaking success of last year’s graduating class, is availalable on the Senior Class Gift website.
