Devin Thomas, Jessica Roemer and Kelsi Dankey, senior social work students, will staff a mental health awareness booth from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. today, Monday, May 17. The booth will be set up in the lower quad near Murry-Herrick Campus Center.
The booth is a project for their Generalist Practice for Social Change class. Each student in the class participated in or facilitated a macro social work project. Thomas, Roemer and Dankey's goal is to raise awareness and educate students about mental health; they hope this will help reduce the stigma surrounding mental illness.
Students are welcome to stop by, take a break from studying and receive general information about mental health or pamphlets about mental illnesses.
