Sisters who were helped following fire, bridge collapse send their thanks

Two sisters, one a student at the University of St. Thomas and the other a student at the College of St. Catherine, send their thanks to all who helped them and their family in the wake of back-to-back tragedies last summer.

The family's home was severely damaged by a fire on July 30. A short time later, one of the sisters was injured in the I-35 bridge collapse.

The large family has asked to remain anonymous.  An announcement made on both campuses last summer requested: "We hope you will join us in supporting these members of our community and protecting their privacy."

"We would like to thank all of those who donated clothes, shoes, gift cards and household supplies,"the sisters wrote. "It was very generous of every one of you who supported and helped our family through this rough period.

"There's nothing we can say or do that will measure up to the generosity of all the staff members, faculty members, alumni and our friends at St. Thomas and St. Kate's. Your help and support was appreciated and thank you again."
