STAR announces events on Feb. 9-13
Here are some upcoming STAR (St. Thomas Activities and Recreation) events:
Thursday, Feb. 9
The Student Musician Series (SMS) will perform during the convocation hour in Scooter’s, lower level, Murray-Herrick Campus Center. Come for lunch and enjoy music by your peers.
Saturday, Feb. 11
- Tommies After Dark Poker Night will be held from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. in Koch Commons.
- STAR’s Warm Weather Throw Together dance will be held from 10 p.m. to 1 a.m. in the Coughlan Field House. To get your ticket, bring one canned food item to the Box Office in Murray-Herrick Campus Center. This dance provides the perfect opportunity to throw your swimsuit on over your clothes or bring out those shorts you’ve been saving for spring break and polish your shades for STAR’s beach-themed get-together.
Monday, Feb. 13
This is the first night in a series of Monday classes where instructors from The Dancer’s Studio will teach salsa lessons from 9 to 10 p.m. in the third-floor gym, O’Shaughnessy Hall athletic building. The lessons are part of “Monday Moves” sponsored by STAR. Cost is $20 for 11 salsa lessons. No partner is needed. Sign up in the Box Office or before the first lesson.
