Stress less at lunch with free meditation sessions
UST students, faculty and staff: If you are overwhelmed with finals looming and the craziness of upcoming holidays, join the Wellness Center for "Stress Less at Lunch," a free one-hour session of mindfulness meditation and gentle movement.
Sessions will be held from noon to 1 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 20, and Friday, Dec. 12, in the Luann Dummer Center for Women, Room 103, O'Shaughnessy Educational Center.
Learn to use your breath as a stress reduction tool while enhancing concentration and helping you stay on task. These sessions can help you feel physically, emotionally and intellectually rejuvenated and give you take-away tools to keep the practice going.
The sessions are free, but registration is needed and will be accepted up to one day prior to each session. To register, e-mail the Wellness Center or call (651) 962-6128.
The facilitator, Barbara Wulf, received her professional training in mindfulness-based stress reduction at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center's Center for Mindfulness. She has practiced mindfulness since 1998. She teaches in Twin Cities business and nonprofit communities, at the University of St. Thomas, and also has facilitated classes at the University of Minnesota.
