Students take third in FBI national case study competition
Kayla Stormo, Karen Stotts and Jennifer Matthees presented their project on reforming the FBI to a panel of FBI judges on Jan. 13 at the Hoover Building on Pennsylvania Avenue in Washington, D.C. A fourth student, Joe Gierok, was unable to attend the project presentation.
This group of students was chosen from a national pool of universities and colleges contending for a finalist spot in the EdVenture Partners FBI Case Study Competition. The St. Thomas group took third place in the competition and was awarded $1,000. Mercyhurst College took first place and DeSales University placed second.
The St. Thomas group originally worked on its fall semester project in the context of the American Foreign Policy course taught by Elizabeth Klages, Political Science Department, where the best project was chosen to send on to the national competition.
This was the first year that EdVenture Partners worked together with the FBI to collaborate with college students. Congratulations to these students on their accomplishment.
