Take Advantage of Your (new) Employee Benefits

Through the Human Resources Department, St. Thomas has added another employee benefit to its generous slate of offerings and renewed two others.

The new benefit is the university’s membership in MERSC (Minnesota Employee Recreation and Services Council). All employees and their immediate family members are eligible for discounts on products and services ranging from recreation, restaurants and entertainment to child care, hotels and auto services.

To view current and ongoing offers, visit the MERSC website. Be sure to tell the vendor prior to purchase that you are an employee of the University of St. Thomas – a MERSC member company. Be prepared to show proof of employment, such as a pay stub or UST ID card.

Here are two offers you can take advantage of right now:ovo

Benefits memberships renewed

The university has renewed both the Best Doctors and the Employee Assistance Program benefits.

Best Doctors is a network of medical and clinical experts that provides employees of member organizations with access to world-class medical experts. This service enables employees to obtain a second opinion when faced with a medical challenge so that they can be sure they have received the correct diagnosis and treatment plan. Best Doctors is another way for employees to take control of their health care and make informed medical choices. To take advantage of  this service, contact Best Doctors; it’s free to employees enrolled in one of the university's medical plans.

UST’s Employee Assistance Program is offered through Guidance Resources, a single source for confidential support, expert information and valuable resources. You and your family members can take advantage of confidential counseling, legal information and consultations, free online will preparation, financial tools, and resources for work-life needs. Guidance Resources is available by phone 24 hours a day, or visit online.

The Human Resources department encourages all employees to take advantage of the full range of benefits St. Thomas offers. For more information, call the Human Resources Department, Benefits Office, (651) 962-6497.
