The St. Thomas Tutor-Mentor Program invites the UST community to celebrate its 20th anniversary on Thursday, April 22.
The celebration will take place from 3:30 to 5 p.m. outside the Center for Intercultural Learning and Community Engagement (CILCE), Room 153, Murray-Herrick Campus Center. A short program, chronicling the history of the program, as well as recognition of community partners and faculty members will be a part of the celebration.
Started in 1989, students involved in Tutor-Mentor have volunteered over 180,000 hours of their time and talents to help more than 12,000 elementary and secondary education students in Minneapolis and St. Paul. This past year, over 350 students completed approximately 20 hours of one-on-one and small-group tutoring.
In honor of the 20th anniversary, the CILCE center will collect donations and will give away 20-year Tutor-Mentor T-shirts during the week.
The event is free and open to the public; refreshments will be served.
