UAWE Seeks Nominations for Coordinating Council

University Advocates for Women and Equity is accepting nominations for members of its coordinating council. Voting will be held at the reception for new women employees and annual fall meeting of the UAWE Tuesday, Sept. 25. The event will be held at 3:30 p.m. in the James B. Woulfe Alumni Hall-south, third floor, Anderson Student Center.

The UAWE coordinating council solicits input from the UST community on issues of concern to women and decides on the best strategy to address those issues. The coordinating council also sponsors several ongoing initiatives, including the annual presentation of the Sister Pat Kowalski Women’s Leadership Award and several other awards, scholarships for the Leaders of Today and Tomorrow conference, and a reception for new female employees of the university.

The University Advocates for Women and Equity is open to all members of the university community who agree with its mission of support and advocacy for women. Individuals who are interested can nominate themselves or someone else by emailing the name of the nominee to Dr. Susan Myers no later than 5 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 20.

Undergraduate and graduate students are especially encouraged to consider serving on the UAWE coordinating council.
