Here's a roundup of recent St. Thomas mentions of interest in various media. Read the stories by clicking on the links. Links do expire and change as papers move stories to "archive" status, and if links have expired, you're welcome to purchase access to the stories or use a search engine such as Lexis Nexis, available on the UST Libraries' Web site.   • "Couple describes white-collar crime," The Dartmouth (Dartmouth College student daily), Oct. 16, 2009. "The talk, sponsored by the Dartmouth Ethics Institute, was part of a touring program, 'Lessons Learned From the Failures of Others,' organized by the University of St. Thomas. Hank Shea, a senior distinguished fellow at the St. Thomas School of Law, mediated the discussion. Shea has mediated more than 75 of these talks, in which white-collar felons — most of whom he prosecuted — share their stories to teach students about corporate ethics."

"[Bishop-elect Paul Sirba] has a bachelor’s degree in philosophy from the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, a master of divinity degree from St. Paul Seminary, and an advanced apostolic diploma and a master’s degree from Notre Dame Institute of Catechetics in Alexandria, Va."

  • "CEO: Cutting-edge biodiesel refinery will be ‘neighbor friendly,’" Mason City (Iowa) Globe-Gazette, Oct. 18, 2009. "Gregory Mowry let it sink in as he talked about the technology that will be used in a biodiesel refinery that will be built near Forest City. 'It doesn’t need water and it doesn’t produce any waste,' the University of St. Thomas engineering professor said. 'No water, no waste … you could have one of these things in your garage and your neighbors would never know it.'"

"Shapiro was a former senior rabbi of Temple Israel in Minneapolis, co-founder of the University of St. Thomas' Jewish-Christian Learning Center, Humanitarian Award honoree and named one of the state's most influential citizens."
