  • “More people are buying homes that cost a million dollars or more,” Star Tribune, Aug. 24, 2003. “‘Consumption is extraordinarily conspicuous,’ said George Karvel, who holds the distinguished chair in real estate at the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul.”

Patrick Schiltz of the UST School of Law is the author of the cover story in this independent journal of opinion edited by lay Catholics.   • “Shooter,” St. Paul Pioneer Press, Aug. 28, 2003. Charley Walters’ column includes: “Former Gophers third baseman Jack Hannahan of St. Paul had a 17-game hitting streak end this week for the Detroit Tigers' Class AA Erie (Pa.) team. During the streak, Hannahan, 23, increased his average 30 points to .255. Hannahan's brother, Buzz, 27, a former University of St. Thomas All-American, has just three errors in 110 games playing six positions for the Phillies' AA Reading (Pa.) team.”
