UST senior Lindsay Allen wins Midwest Collegiate Sailing Association single-handed women's regatta
St. Thomas senior Lindsay Allen sailed in the Midwest Collegiate Sailing Association's single-handed regatta hosted by Marquette University on Lake Michigan Oct. 7-8.
Allen sails a Laser Radial, an Olympic-class, single-handed boat. She out-sailed women from the University of Michigan, Marquette University and the University of Wisconsin.
In the seven races she sailed on the first day of competition, she finished with three firsts, three seconds and a third. Sailing even stronger on the second day, she captured four firsts for the MCSA women's single-handed title and qualified for College Nationals to be held Nov. 3-5 in Rhode Island.
