Vacation, PLT and floating holiday reminders

Vacation, PLT and floating holiday reminders

Paid leave time (PLT), vacation and floating holidays are given to all eligible full- and part-time employees. In order to ensure you do not lose any of this earned paid leave time, please review the information below.

Exempt (salaried) staff vacation leave
Vacation allotment is received at the beginning of each fiscal year (July 1) and must be used by the end of each fiscal year (June 30). All vacation leave time that is not used as of June 30 will be forfeited.

Effective July 1, 2008, exempt employees who terminate from UST shall receive reimbursement of up to five (5) days of earned but unused vacation leave. Payment for unused vacation leave is processed as soon as administratively possible following the last day of employment.

Non-exempt (hourly) staff PLT
Paid Leave Time is accrued every pay period. On Sept. 30, you may carry over a maximum of 160 hours of PLT. Any hours in excess of that limit will be forfeited. PLT account balances can be accessed on Murphy Online or on your pay stub.

Floating holidays
Fiscal year 2008 floating holidays must be used by June 30, 2008, or they will be forfeited.

Union members
Refer to your contract for information on vacation leave and floating holidays. All vacation leave, PLT and floating holiday requests must be approved by your supervisor. Make plans early so you can enjoy the time off that you have earned. This will help avoid loss of any accrued time.
