Volunteer registration begins today for UST booth at the state fair
Registration begins today to join the team of UST volunteers at the Minnesota State Fair. You’ll speak to potential students, reminisce with alumni and greet general fair goers. You also will have a chance to meet others who work at UST and share knowledge and pride in the university, and as a bonus, you’ll receive a T-shirt and a free entry ticket. This is a fun way to be part of the UST community.
The fair dates are Thursday, Aug. 25, through Monday, Sept. 5. Five people will be assigned to each shift. Sign up early to get the day and time that works best for you.
Shift times are:
- 9 a.m. - noon
- Noon-3 p.m.
- 3-6 p.m.
- 6-9 p.m.
Employees wishing to volunteer at the booth during their regular work hours must obtain supervisor approval prior to signing up for a shift. Hourly employees may sign up for one three-hour shift during their regular work hours and will be paid the three hours at the booth plus one additional hour to compensate for travel.
Kick-off training sessions will be offered from noon to 1 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 16, in 3M Auditorium, Owens Science Hall, south campus, and from noon to 1 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 17, in Room 401, Terrence Murphy Hall, Minneapolis campus. Please plan to come, even if you’ve volunteered in the past.
So register now; the shifts will fill fast!
