Volunteers In Action seeks site leaders for 2008-09

Volunteers In Action, a St. Thomas club that support students as they volunteer in the community, is seeking site leaders for the 2008-09 academic year.

"Volunteers give one to two hours a week to the site they have chosen and truly do make a difference in someone else's life," said Bridget O'Neill, director of the program.

A variety of sites is offered, including working with children, the elderly, the homeless, the Latino community, and a local hospital.

"Volunteers In Action is a great opportunity to develop leadership skills, meet new people, and get more involved in the community," O'Neill added.

For more information about site-leader responsibilities, e-mail O'Neill, or pick up an application in the Center for Community Partnerships, Room 153, Murray-Herrick Campus Center.
