Welcome to the Newsroom

Welcome to your new source for the latest news and information about the University of St. Thomas and the people who live, learn and work here. The Newsroom tells the university's story through honest, trustworthy and up-to-the-minute coverage of breaking news, feature stories and notifications that impact the entire community.

Where did that go?

Some of the content you may have grown accustomed to seeing in Bulletin Today has a new home in the Newsroom. Regular features such as The Scroll, UST in the News and Professional Notes are easily accessible through the site's main navigation. For more information about where to find the information that interests you most, visit the Newsroom's Frequently Asked Questions and learn more about the categories that organize the site.

You also will find new content here, with a focus placed on high-impact visuals and multimedia. New features coming soon will include The Weigh-in – a commentary column written by faculty members highlighting their research, current events and trends; Tommie Traditions – a periodic feature on different St. Thomas-isms and the history behind them; and Depth of Field - a photo and multimedia blog.

How often will new content appear in the Newsroom?

When you hear about news breaking at St. Thomas, the Newsroom is your destination for the latest coverage. The Newsroom operates on a 24-hour news cycle, which means new stories can appear at any time, multiple times a day. To notify readers of new content, targeted email alerts will be sent to the community periodically throughout the week. In addition, Newsroom headlines will begin to appear in many places where readers are already logging in, such as the purple "drawer" space at the top of every St. Thomas Web page, Portal and Blackboard.

Read more about the types of notifications that will be sent by the Newsroom in Frequently Asked Questions.

Make the Newsroom your homepage

See the latest news and feature stories in the Newsroom every time you open your browser by making the Newsroom your default homepage. The Newsroom Frequently Asked Questions list step-by-step instructions on how to set your homepage in Internet Explorer, Firefox, Safari and Chrome.
