Wellness Center names Sun Safety Week winners
Tawyna Pumarlo and Meran Kreibich are the winners of the Sun Safety Week Sunblock Hunt, held last week and sponsored by the Wellness Center. They won a $50 gift card to the UST Bookstore.
Pumarlo also won the daily sun safety quiz and a $25 gift card to the Bookstore.
The sunblock was found outside of Student Health Services under a bush.
The sun safety quiz questions and answers were as follows:
Monday
Quiz question: Each hour, how many Americans die from skin cancer?
Answer: One American per hour
Tuesday
Quiz question: What are the ABCDs of skin cancer?
Answer: Asymmetry, Border Irregularity, Color, Diameter
Wednesday
Quiz question: Skin cancer accounts for more than what percentage of all cancers combined?
Answer: 50 percent
Thursday
Quiz question: How much sunscreen do you need to apply to ensure you get the full SPF?
Answer: One ounce (the size of a shot glass)
Friday
Quiz question: The risk for melanoma doubles if a peson has been sunburned how many times within his or her life?
Answer: Five or more sunburns
