Center for Business Excellence lists programs for January and February

The Center for Business Excellence will offer several programs in January and February. A 33 percent discount is available to UST alumni, and a 75 percent discount is available to UST faculty and staff. Team Dynamics

Thursday and Friday, Jan. 25-26

This program, part of the Leadership Skills Series, focuses on a series of exercises and discussions for three critical team leadership skills: effective development of optimum team synergy, successful management and transformation of negative individual attitudes, and maintenance of healthy group dynamics to foster high levels of productivity.

Coaching and Mentoring

Thursday and Friday, Feb. 1 and 2

This program, also part of the Leadership Skills Series, will give participants a solid understanding of the power of coaching and mentoring. It is designed to help participants learn how to unlock employee potential, expand individual contribution, foster self reliance, develop future leaders, and create a stronger sense of trust within an organization.

Six Sigma Black Belt Certificate

Mondays, Feb. 5 to May 21

By using Six Sigma quality management tools and techniques, costs and deficiencies in products and processes are reduced dramatically, thereby improving customer satisfaction and raising profit. During the Six Sigma Black Belt Certificate program, participants will apply Six Sigma to an existing work project. The average savings per participant-completed project has been $178,000.

Burgeoning entrepreneurs are invited to attend this free FastTrac Growth Venture information session. FastTrac Growth Venture is a 10-week, one night per week practical business development program created by experienced business owners. It features new curriculum with action steps to help entrepreneurs sharpen their strategic thinking and decision-making skills as they plan for the growth of their businesses.

Mini Master of Retailing Excellence

Wednesdays, Feb. 7 to May 9

This program provides retail professionals with a comprehensive foundation in the retail industry. The Mini Master of Retailing Excellence was developed in consultation with retail executives and is delivered by top instructors in their areas of expertise. Past organizations to participate in this program include: Target, Coca-Cola, Juut Salon Spa and Best Buy Co., among others.

This program, part of the Leadership Skills Series, includes an interactive yet fun examination and practice of verbal and non-verbal communication skills through individual and group interaction. Two four-day modules, Feb. 21 to April 14

This program is intended to help middle managers work cross functionally

Mini Master of Corporate Facilities Leadership

Tuesdays, Feb. 13 to May 22

Designed for professionals working with real estate and facilities issues at a corporate level, this program addresses the major components of real estate and facilities management.

Three hours of real estate continuing education for each class session has been approved by the Minnesota Department of Commerce, a total of 42 hours of continuing education.
