Check in at the Family Weekend Hospitality and Registration Center, first floor, Murray-Herrick Campus Center, to get the final schedule of events with complete information.
Just about everyone periodically wishes that they had gotten a little more sleep the night before. Author of Power Sleep, J.B. Maas, asserts that sufficient sleep allows humans to achieve peak performance and a sleep-deprived person experiences negative impacts on work, academic studies, home life and relationships. This book is easy to read quickly and provides helpful tips on how to create better sleep habits. Join a nurse practitioner from Student Health Services for a brief presentation and discussion of the power of sleep. The book is available for purchase at the UST Bookstore or at any major book retailer.
- 5-7 p.m. International potluck for Friendship Families and international students. Location TBA. Check in at the Family Weekend Hospitality and Registration Center, first floor, Murray-Herrick Campus Center, to get the final schedule of events with complete information.
Students and their families are asked to bring an international or American dish to share. Contact the Office of International Student Services (OISS) for additional information at (651) 962-6650 or visit the OISS Web page.
- 7:30 p.m. Tonic Sol-fa concert in the auditorium, O’Shaughnessy Educational Center. This event is free and open to the public.
Although they are simply four voices and a tambourine, Tonic Sol-fa has spent the past seven years on the road carving its niche as one of the Midwest ’s top vocal groups. The New York Times described Tonic Sol-fa’s sound as “a vocal kaleidoscope – unique to the human voice.” Part spontaneous interaction and part inventive production, a Tonic Sol-fa performance usually includes impromptu performances from audience members and it always showcases an all-vocal sound. For more information, visit the Tonic Sol-fa Web site.
