Nice Ride coming to St. Paul college campuses

MPR's On Campus Blog and the Pioneer Press have noted that the Nice Ride bike rental system is spreading from Minneapolis to St. Paul this summer.

The bike-sharing organization Nice Ride Minnesota will add a fleet of 500 bicycles to 40 new rental stations this summer, branching out for the first time from Minneapolis to St. Paul. The $2 million expansion will bring Nice Ride's total to 113 automated, solar-powered, street-corner docking stations spanning a chain of strategic locations across the Twin Cities, including the St. Paul campuses of the University of St. Thomas, Macalester College and Hamline and Concordia universities.

We posted briefly about Nice Ride last year and though there isn't a docking station on our Minneapolis campus, there are three within two blocks of it! You could check out a bike in St. Paul, put it on the St. Thomas shuttle to Minneapolis, bike across town and check-in in North East.

Have you tried a Nice Ride bike? What did you think of the experience? How about the value? Considering their growth around the Twin cities, I'd say Nice Ride is certainly a success!
