Dr. Jean Birbilis, Graduate School of Professional Psychology, is co-author, with Dr. Mary Brant, of a paper, “Psychotherapists’ Personal Use of Social Networking Sites and Practice Implications,” presented in August at the annual convention of the American Psychological Association. Birbilis also presented two additional papers at the convention: “Independent Practice's Future If There's a Public Health Insurance Option” and “Large Corporations as Small Communities and Private Practice Implications.”

Dr. Sanjeev Bordoloi, Operations and Supply Chain Management Department, Opus College of Business, presented a paper, "Lean Management in Healthcare," with Dr. David Fischer of TRIA Orthopedics, May 8-10 at the National Conference of the Production and Operations Management Society held in Vancouver, Canada.

Dr. Ameeta Jaiswal-Dale, Finance Department, Opus College of Business, and Dr. Lorman Lundsten, Marketing Department, Opus College of Business, are co-authors of an article, “Assessment of Classroom Learning of the Alphabetical Soup- CDO, CDS, MBS, IFRS, SPE and Basel II," published in the spring issue of The Journal of the Academy of Business Education. Jaiswal-Dale served as a panel member for the special session, “Total Risk Evaluation for Capital Budgeting – A Roundtable Discussion” in June at the Financial Management Association European annual meeting in Hamburg, Germany. She also will serve as a chair of the session “Issues in Option Valuation” in October at the Financial Management Association U.S. annual meeting in New York City.

Dr. Karen Rogers, College of Applied Professional Studies, will give the keynote address Sept. 13 at the South Dakota Association for Gifted Children Conference in Pierre, S.D.

Dr. Lalith Samarakoon, Finance Department, Opus College of Business, is the author of an article, "Asymmetric Investor Behavior Between Buyside and Sellside: Evidence From Investor Classes in the Sri Lankan Stock Market," which has been accepted for publication in a forthcoming issue of the Journal of Multinational Financial Management.

Dr. Rachel Wobschall, Alumni and Constituent Relations, was reappointed by Gov. Tim Pawlenty to the Ombudsman Committee for Mental Health and Developmental Disabilities.
