Please remember in your prayers Catherine Dokken, who died Saturday, Aug. 3, in Fargo, N.D. She was the mother of Dr. Douglas Dokken, Mathematics Department, College of Arts and Sciences.
Catherine, 88, of Moorhead, Minn., was born Sept. 29, 1924, to Norwegian immigrant parents on a farm near Beltrami, Minn. She attended school in Beltrami and graduated as valedictorian of the class in 1942.
She went to Fairview School of X-ray Technology in Minneapolis, and was employed as a technologist by Midway Hospital and the Earl Clinic, both in St. Paul.
Catherine and Willis Dokken were married on Aug. 16, 1947, in Beltrami. They lived in St. Paul until moving to Moorhead in 1951. Catherine was a “stay at home mom” until their youngest child was in fifth grade.
A memorial service was held earlier this month in Moorhead. An obituary and guest book can be viewed on the Korsmo Funeral Service website.
