Two scholarship opportunities announced

The Office of Student Financial Services lists two scholarships available to students.

Anna M. Kuhl Scholarship

The Anna M. Kuhl Scholarship is offered to students who are long-term residents of St. Paul or a nearby community.

These communities include: Arden Hills, Birchwood, Cottage Grove, Dellwood, Eagan, Falcon Heights, Gem Lake, Inver Grove Heights, Lauderdale, Lilydale, Little Canada, Maplewood, Mendota Heights, Mahtomedi, Mounds View, New Brighton, Newport, North Oaks, North St. Paul, Oakdale, Pine Springs, Roseville, St. Anthony, St. Paul, St. Paul Park, Shoreview, South St. Paul, Sunfish Lake, Vadnais Heights, West St. Paul, White Bear Lake and Woodbury. 

The award will be based on character, integrity, academic performance and financial need. 

Application deadline is Wednesday, March 15.

Jack Shelley Scholarship

The Jack Shelley Scholarship is presented by the Northwest Broadcast News Association.  Applicants must be full time and graduating after August 2006.

Criteria for the award include: 1) dedication to broadcast journalism as a career, 2) academic achievement, and 3) experience in the field (internships, volunteer work, part- and full-time jobs). 

Application deadline is Friday, Feb. 24.
