  • "Advice from the experts," St. Paul Pioneer Press, Jan. 10, 2010. Communication and Journalism Department associate professor Dr. Carol Bruess shares what she knows about interpersonal communication for this column advising older job seekers. See this profile of one of the job seekers, whose "dream job" is at St. Thomas.
  • "Homeowners dilemma: tax credit vs. mortgage interest deduction," St. Paul Pioneer Press, Jan. 10, 2010. "George Karvel, a professor of real estate at St. Thomas University, said it would make sense to lower the maximum dollar value of the mortgage debt — perhaps to $500,000. But he rejects the idea that the current tax credits should replace the deduction on mortgage interest."
  • "John Ewoldt: Time to give the bull's-eye folks a break," Star Tribune, Jan. 11, 2010. "Shoppers, at least in Minnesota, take Target's slogan 'Expect more' very seriously, said David Brennan of the Center for Retailing Excellence at the University of St. Thomas. The company has positioned itself as 'upscale' in discount merchandising, ethical behavior and community orientation, he said." 
  • Minnesota Chinese Dance Theater, Asian American Press, Jan. 8, 2010. "The rigorously trained dancers under the leadership of Artistic Director Tianjiang Cui, a professional choreographer and dance instructor who was educated at Beijing Dance School. She and spouse, Yusen Liu, PhD, a professor of business and economics at the University of St. Thomas, work each year to bring the classical dances of various ethnic groups of China to the stage with their cast of visiting stars and local dancers."
  • "Sports notebook," Woodbury Bulletin, Jan. 12, 2010. "Hilliard honored at Sugar Bowl: Woodbury High School alumnus Jeffrey Hilliard was one of 22 players selected from more than 160 nominees in NCAA Division I, II and II colleges to receive the Allstate Good Works Team Award. Hilliard, who was honored at halftime of the Sugar Bowl in New Orleans, is a member of the University of St. Thomas football team."
  • "Good Question: How Sincere Are Public Apologies?" WCCO-TV, Jan. 12, 2010. "That dissonance also impacts the public figure, according to Dr. John Tauer, a University of St. Thomas social psychologist. Tauer wrote about Tiger Woods' affair and apology in Psychology Today. 'After having several alleged affairs, will he continue to justify and rationalize his behavior, focus on the lack of privacy afforded him by the public, and ignore the fact that his behavior, carefully cultivated image, and success are the reasons people are so intrigued by this story?'  Tauer said."
