- "Homeowners dilemma: tax credit vs. mortgage interest deduction," St. Paul Pioneer Press, Jan. 10, 2010. "George Karvel, a professor of real estate at St. Thomas University, said it would make sense to lower the maximum dollar value of the mortgage debt — perhaps to $500,000. But he rejects the idea that the current tax credits should replace the deduction on mortgage interest."
