- "New law could be a lifeline for debt-laden law students," Finance & Commerce, April 14, 2010. "The University of Minnesota Law School and the University of St. Thomas School of Law already use direct lending. Financial aid counselors at Hamline University School of Law and William Mitchell College of Law anticipate the transition will be smooth to the new system and say the change won’t be traumatic for students. Chad Nosbusch, the associate director of financial aid for graduate programs at UST Law, said some banks were lending less in the soft economy, which made loans harder to find. 'I never thought I would be a fan of direct lending, but quite honestly this is best for our students,' he said. 'When the economy changed, lenders were getting out of the business and taking away the benefits to students. [Direct lending] takes away that uncertainty.'"
