Looking for an opportunity to volunteer with fellow students to serve the greater St. Thomas community? Consider the third annual Spring Service Day, “Wash My Feet.” The event runs from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, April 16.
Hosted by the Christian Leaders Club and Volunteers in Action, the day starts in 3M Auditorium, Owens Science Hall, with check-in and a talk by Pat Millea, a “wacky Catholic blessed with a vocation of ministry to youth and families.” Volunteers will go to the service sites for approximately three hours and then return to campus for a late lunch and reflection session.
More than 10 service sites around the Twin Cities are booked and ready for helping hands. In the past, students have helped with Saturday school at Concordia Creative Learning Center, engaged with senior citizens at Episcopal Homes and participated with Feed My Starving Children.

The title for Spring Service Day, “Wash My Feet,” is taken from the Gospel of John 13: 14-15, “If I, therefore, the master and teacher, have washed your feet, you ought to wash one another’s feet. I have given you a model to follow, so that as I have done for you, you should also do.”
