Dr. Javier Vela, assistant professor of chemistry at Iowa State University, will present today’s Chemistry Seminar.
Vela works in the area of colloidal semiconductor crystals (also known as quantum dots). He will discuss challenges in derivatizing and assembling these nanocrystals into higher order, functional materials in order to exploit their ability to harvest light and turn it into other forms of energy.
Chemistry Seminars are held at 3 p.m. each Friday in Room 251, Owens Science Hall. All are invited and welcome to attend.
