Enterprise Systems outages begin this weekend

IRT is upgrading to Banner 8.2/8.2.1. This system upgrade will help ensure continued system stability, bringing with it improved and extended functionality.

What’s happening?

From 12:01 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 5, to approximately 8 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 9, Banner resources will be intermittently unavailable while we install necessary upgrades. IRT hopes that this scheduled outage will result in minimal inconvenience.

How will this impact you?

While we are installing the upgrade, the following systems will be affected:

  • From 12:01 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 5, to approximately midnight Saturday, Dec. 5, production Internet Native Banner and Murphy Online will be unavailable.During this Banner 8.2/8.2.1 upgrade, AppWorx also will be unavailable. IRT will be disabling all scheduled jobs for Saturday, Dec. 5. Please contact Wood Foster-Smith or May Ko Yang if you have questions regarding your AppWorx jobs.

During this upgrade Optix will be unavailable for updating but will be available in Read-Only mode.

  • From 12:01 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 5, to approximately 8 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 9, the production reporting database ODSP and EDW will be unavailable. Any reporting will come from ODST data, which will be current as of end of business Friday, Dec. 4.

Any AppWorx jobs running against ODSP will need to be disabled until ODSP becomes available.

For the convenience of our users, IRT will copy Friday night’s back up of Banner Production to the PONE instance, and ODSP will be copied to ODST. Both will be available for view access while the upgrade is performed.  These backups will reflect Banner Production as of the end of the day on Dec. 4.
