The Student Legacy Speaker Series, a yearlong series that features philanthropists and development professionals, returns this week with conversation and pizza. Greg Voss will discuss his work as executive director with the nonprofit organization Minnesota Little Brothers-Friends of the Elderly.
The talk will begin at 8 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 9, in Room 154, Murray-Herrick Campus Center.
The speaker series is sponsored by the Student Legacy Program at St. Thomas, a student club that is devoted to learning about and promoting philanthropy at the university. The club encourages all students who are interested in the nonprofit sector, philanthropy, volunteering and the Student Legacy Program to attend.
Since 1972, Little Brothers-Friends of the Elderly has paired volunteers with older adults to combat the isolation and loneliness that often comes with aging. Today, tens of thousands of volunteers in nine countries work with Little Brothers-Friends of the Elderly. The Twin Cities chapter is the second largest and second oldest of the eight U.S. chapters.
