New Blackboard training sessions added
In addition to the August instructional technologies training listed in the July 18 Bulletin article, two new sessions have been added covering two new tools for Blackboard: Journal and Teams LX. To register for these sessions, please visit HR’s Leadership Academy Web site and click the link for Training Online.
Journal and Teams LX are a set of Blackboard tools that foster active learning, facilitate collaboration and increase opportunities for student-instructor interaction and communication. Journal LX facilitates the development of online journals where students, as well as the instructor, can create and upload documents, include images and add links to other Web sites.
Teams LX enables students to work collaboratively in groups to jointly create, edit and comment on shared documents and Web sites. Participants will learn how to create journals and teams sites and about best practices in their use. Prerequisite: Blackboard Design and Content Basics or basic familiarity in working with content areas in a Blackboard course.
Class sessions are:
- 9:30-11:30 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 17, in Room 333, O’Shaughnessy Science Hall ( OSS )
- 1:30-3:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 18, in Room 105, Opus Hall (MOH), Minneapolis campus
