New wellness series focuses on 'Mind, Body, Soul'
St. Thomas will begin a new wellness series for students, "Mind, Body, Soul," from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 27, in the third-floor lounge of Murray-Herrick Campus Center.
Series sponsors Multicultural Student Services, Personal Counseling and the Wellness Center invite you to enjoy a light lunch, develop personal wellness goals, and learn easy ways to reduce stress.
A 2003 survey of 29,000 students by the American College Health Association revealed that 11 percent had been diagnosed by depression and 27 percent felt overwhelmed by all they had to do. This series aims to help change those statistics and to nurture the whole person.

"Follow Me Home," starring Alfre Woodard, Salma Hayek and Benjamin Bratt, received the Audience Award for Best Feature at the 1996 San Francisco International Film Festival. The film earned the Best Feature Film Audience Award at the 1996 San Francisco International Film Festival. It was also an Official Selection in the 1996 Sundance Film Festival
American Indian activist and diversity trainer Lakota Harden will lead a post-film discussion.
