Homecoming Celebration
Show your Tommie pride and bring the energy as we celebrate homecoming with a variety of events.

Oct. 3: Create DIY Tommie Spirit Flair at Homecoming Hype
Students are invited to Homecoming Hype on Friday from 5:30-8 p.m. Design purple and white accessories such as hair pieces and sunglasses to show Tommie pride. Bring friends, share school spirit and head into homecoming weekend decked out in DIY style. Supplies are provided while they last.

Oct. 3: Celebrate Homecoming at Concert on the Plaza
Campus Life invites students to the Homecoming Concert from 7-9:30 p.m. Friday on the upper quad. The evening will feature music, yard games, volleyball, giveaways and Tommie spirit. Food options include dirty soda, pizza rolls, chips and salsa, and selections from local food trucks. Gather friends, enjoy the festivities and celebrate homecoming under the lights.

Oct. 4: Kickstart Homecoming Day With a Wellness 5K
The Center for Well-Being is hosting its annual Wellness 5K early on Saturday, with check-in at 8 a.m. The run will start at 9 a.m. by the Arches. The event will include post-run snacks, prizes for top finishers and surprise raffle giveaways. Free for students; $25 for everybody else.

Oct. 4: Rally at the Tommie Tailgate on the Upper Quad
Campus Life hosts the Tommie Tailgate from 10:30 a.m.-12:45 p.m. Saturday on the upper quad. Enjoy yard games, music, giveaways, food and drink, with additional options from local food trucks. Bring friends and show your Tommie spirit ahead of kickoff.

Cheer on the Tommies vs. Butler at Homecoming
Football takes center stage from 1-5 p.m. Saturday at O'Shaughnessy Stadium. Join fellow Tommies for the homecoming matchup against Butler University and bring your spirit to the stands.

Nominate a Senior for a Tommie Award by Oct. 20

Tommie Award Nominations
Is there a St. Thomas senior you believe represents leadership, scholarship and campus involvement? Nominate them for the 2026 Tommie Award by noon Monday, Oct. 20. The Tommie Award is presented each academic year to a St. Thomas senior who, according to students, faculty and staff, represents the ideals of St. Thomas Aquinas.

Oct. 2: Practice Mindfulness Skills at Workshop

Mindfulness Workshop
Students are invited to attend a Mindfulness Workshop on Thursday, Oct. 2, from noon-1 p.m. in Anderson Student Center (ASC 202). This session will introduce practical strategies to sharpen focus, manage distractions and cultivate calm. Explore how shifting from a full mind to mindful living can support well-being in daily life.

Oct. 2: Explore the History of Racial Covenants

Racial Justice Initiative - Racial Covenants Speakers
From 4-6 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 2, Racial Justice Initiative Founding Director Yohuru Williams, and Mapping Prejudice Project and real estate experts will explore the history and ongoing impact of restrictive racial covenants in the Twin Cities. The event, held in the Iversen Center for Faith on the St. Paul campus, is free, but space is limited.

Oct. 8: Learn Safety Skills With Public Safety 101

The Department of Public Safety will host Safety 101 on Wednesday, Oct. 8, from 6-8 p.m. in Anderson Student Center, Father Dorsey Commons. This lesson on personal safety is part of a monthly series of conversations where students, faculty, staff and neighbors can connect with campus safety partners. Refreshments at 6 p.m.

Observe Campus Sustainability Month This October

Join in on the fun by embracing the international celebration of sustainability in higher education this October. Each week the university will have activities centered around a sustainability theme. They will range from Bird Bingo, "Free-Tea-Thursday" and forest bathing to recycling organics lessons and the annual Mississippi River Cleanup.

She brings more than 20 years of experience in international education leadership and has been serving the St. Thomas community since 2011 as director of the Office of International Students & Scholars. She will oversee International Students and Scholars, International Recruitment and Admissions, and Study Abroad.

Innovation Fellows Expand Learning Disabilities Testings

The 2025 Innovation Fellows "Expanded Assistance for Neurodivergent Students" team, comprising staff psychologist Dr. Kelli Howard and April O'Brien, senior director of Operations and Health Services at CWB, are leading an effort to expand evaluations for dyslexia, dysgraphia and dyscalculia. The Center for Well-Being's efforts to assess learning disabilities began two years ago when it commenced ADHD testing.
