Beginning Wednesday, Aug. 1, the process for ordering replacement toner for leased printers on campus will transition from Scoop to an auto toner process. Auto toner will automatically trigger a replacement cartridge to be sent to the Tech Desk when the toner is low. Tech Desk staff will then replace the cartridge and return the used cartridge to UST’s print vendor to be recycled.
Devices may still give a “toner low” alert, which should be disregarded. If you notice print quality is affected contact the IRT Tech Desk, and Information Resources and Technologies will replace the cartridge or dispatch a technician to troubleshoot.
Other printing supplies, such as staples and paper, will continue to be available through the Service Center’s Scoop program: https://scoop.stthomas.edu. Toner for purchased/department-owned printers can be ordered through Purchasing Services.
IRT is implementing this program in partnership with the Service Center in response to feedback regarding the challenge of replacing toner within a department.
Please keep IRT posted about how this program is working for your department by emailing irthelp@stthomas.edu with questions.
