Residence Life seeks operations manager applications for 2010-11 academic year

The Office of Residence Life will begin accepting applications today for operations manager positions for the 2010-11 school year.

An operations manager is a leader of character and community for on-campus residences. Responsibilities include supervision of the hall’s desk and night-access attendant staff, working in close partnership with the hall supervisor, co-advising the hall council, and assisting with night-access and resident-assistant training and development. Specific job duties my differ depending on the hall.

To be eligible for this position students must have a cumulative GPA of 2.75 or above, maintain a full academic load during employment, and a consultation with Residence Life regarding outside commitments (i.e., outside employment, intercollegiate or club sports, or co-curricular activities) is required. Outside commitments of more than 10 hours per week must be reviewed upon application.

Applicants who will not be on or near campus during J-Term:

  • Complete the Operations Manager Application Form online and submit it by 4:30 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 30.
  • List two references on the application form and inform them they will receive an e-mail with an evaluation form to complete and e-mail back by 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 2.
  • Candidates who are selected for an interview will be contacted via e-mail by 4:30 p.m. Monday, Dec. 7,
  • Interviews will be held December 9, 10 and 11 and will consist of about a half hour of individual interview time with Residence Life staff.
  • Applicants will be notified of their candidacy status via e-mail by 4:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 22.
  • Applicants offered operations manager positions must accept or decline the position by 4:30 p.m. Monday, Jan. 25, 2010.
  • New operations managers must be available to assist with student leader selection in February; date, time and location to be announced.
