The City of St. Paul has declared a snow emergency, effective at 9 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 9.
On-campus parking Lots P, U, V, X and Y will be closed Monday night, Dec. 10, for snow removal. All vehicles will need to be moved by midnight. Vehicles parked in Lot U with a Center Campus Resident Permit can park in the lower level of the Anderson Parking Facility. Vehicles parked in Lots P, V, X and Y can park in Lot O.
City crews began plowing “Night Plow Routes,” which typically are the busiest arterial streets, and one side of north-south residential streets with red-and-white signs that say “Night Plow Route This Side of Street.” Parking is banned on these routes until snow is plowed all the way to the curb.
The city expects to complete the night plowing phase by 8 a.m. Monday, when “Day Plow Routes” will be plowed. These are east-west residential streets and the other side of north-south residential streets (the side without the plowing signs). Again, parking is banned on these routes until snow is plowed to the curb.
City crews will tag and tow cars parked illegally on streets throughout the snow emergency.
Regular parking regulations remain in place on campus during the snow emergency. Parking is not allowed between 2 and 5 a.m. on surface lots, and cars in the Anderson Parking Facility or the Morrison Hall ramp must have proper permits. Lots and ramps should be as clear as possible in order for St. Thomas crews to remove snow in a timely and efficient manner.
