Student government to have five voter preregistration sites on campus today

Today, Oct. 14, is the last day to preregister to vote in the Nov. 4 general election.

The University of St. Thomas' Undergraduate Student Government, in partnership with the Minnesota Public Interest Research Group, has been working to pre-register students on campus.

The USG will have Voter Registration Applications available at five locations on the St. Paul campus from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. today.

Four locations on the main campus are at the Grill, Scooters and the Caf (officially called the Student Dining Room), all in Murray-Herrick Campus Center, and at the information desk of Koch Commons.

The registration forms also will be available at the Binz Refectory on the south campus.

Britney Bryant, USG president, said the preregistration drive helps to save students the "time and hassle" of registering to vote on the day of the election.

"We have a goal of getting 1,000 St. Thomas students preregistered," she said. "We are almost there, but we need all of you to help us get to that goal.

"By registering to vote, St. Thomas students show our community that we care, we are interested and we want our voices heard," she added.
