Wellness Center sponsors mindfulness programs

These relaxing programs teach what mindfulness (present moment awareness) has to offer and provide some effective tools for working with all kinds of stress: sleep disorders, high blood pressure, headaches, chronic pain or illness, anxiety and depression and even weight loss

Mindfulness is a single concept with many benefits to help you keep focused and balanced and cope with life's challenges.

Here are the classes:

Introduction to Mindfulness Meditation, Minneapolis campus
6:30-8:30 p.m. Tuesdays, March 25, April 1 and 8

In this program, you will learn the concept of mindfulness meditation and various forms of practice, including gentle mindfulness movement. You also will learn to use breath as a stress-reduction tool and bring awareness to how the mind affects the body and its physical health. Each class will help to reduce stress and muscle tension, leaving one physically, emotionally and intellectually rejuvenated. Class handouts and suggestions for practicing mindfulness in daily life are included.

Half-day mindfulness retreat, St. Paul campus
9 a.m.- noon Saturday, April 5

Jump-start an existing practice or take some quality time for yourself. You will learn or revisit the concepts of mindfulness meditation with various forms of practice, including sitting, walking, gentle movement and a mindful eating exercise. This is a fun and relaxing experience that will leave you feeling focused and rejuvenated; it is open to everyone.
