How well do you know UST? (Question No.3)

Karen Lange, dean of students, was the first to respond correctly to the “How well do you know UST?” question posed last week by Institutional Research and Analysis: “Do you know what percentage of transfer students between 2004 and 2007 returned for their second year at UST?” The answer: 82.2 percent.

Here is this week’s question: “What was the total enrollment at UST in 1885?”

Most people at UST know that the university enrolled students for the first time in 1885, but how many know what the total enrollment was in 1885? The Data Factbook 2009-10 provides a comprehensive source of measures important to the institution. These measures include historic and current enrollments, graduation outcomes, staffing levels, etc. This early release version does not include staff and faculty information that will be added sometime in February 2010.

To find out how many students were enrolled at St. Thomas in 1885, click on the Data Factbook 2009-10 Web site, developed by Institutional Research and Analysis. This question addresses strategic priorities A1d, A2b, A2c, A2e, A2g, E2d, E3a, E3b, E4c, C1a and C3c as described in the UST Strategic Plan.

The first person who responds to instresearch@stthomas.edu with the correct answer to today’s question will be acknowledged in this column next week. Each month, those who submit a correct response to any of the Institutional Research and Analysis weekly Bulletin questions during the month will have the opportunity to win a UST coffee mug through a random drawing.
