St. Thomas Students Witness Community and Resilience During VISION Trip to Ecuador

During this J-Term, a group of University of St. Thomas students traveled to Quito, Ecuador, to volunteer at Centro Una Familia de Familias through the university's VISION program. Through volunteering and cultural immersion, students witnessed firsthand the resilience of families working to break cycles of poverty while embracing the spirit of community and solidarity. It's an action-packed weekend for Tommie Athletics, and that means it's time to come out and support your favorite student-athletes!
- Cheer on the men's basketball team as they take on Omaha at 7 p.m. Saturday night at Schoenecker Arena. While regular tickets for the game are sold out, a few student tickets still remain. - The women's hockey team will welcome Bemidji State to town. They'll host the Beavers for two games, 7 p.m. on Friday and then 3 p.m. on Saturday, both at the Saint Thomas Ice Arena.

Explore the themes of power, identity and belonging in two special workshops facilitated by Dr. Nic Bennett, a postdoctoral research fellow from Michigan State University. Bennett uses art and performance to critique, disrupt and reimagine science communication spaces. The workshops, sponsored by the Emerging Media Department, take place Feb. 18 and are free to attend.
