100 Scholars Strong: Dougherty Family College Reaches Scholarship Milestone

2025 DFC Excellence Scholarship Winners
This year's Excellence Scholarship recipients mark a milestone for DFC. Since the college opened in fall 2017 and presented its first set of associate degrees in spring 2019, it has awarded 100 Excellence Scholarships that cover 100% of tuition when students pursue a bachelor's degree at the University of St. Thomas.

May 15: Enjoy Season Finale of Chapel Arts Series

The University of St. Thomas Chapel Arts Series and the Department of Theology presents: "Light From Light: A Jubilee Celebration of the Council of Nicaea." Join your fellow Tommies for a night of live choral music, orchestra, and words from guest speaker Mark McInroy. The night feature music from Rachmaninoff, Mozart, Backman and many others. This event is free to the public. This event takes place on May 15 in the Chapel of St. Thomas Aquinas at 7 p.m.

May 16: Celebrate the Last Day of Class at Tommie Fest

Join your fellow Tommies on the last day of classes for an end of year celebration! There will be food trucks, bonfire pits, s'mores, giveaways and an outdoor concert featuring Twin Star Rocket (a local band featuring St. Thomas professor Gino Giovanelli) and Paul Russell. Food vouchers will be offered to undergrad students to choose from one of the many food trucks provided. There will also be free Crumbl cookies! This event takes place on John P. Monahan Plaza on May 16 from 5-8 p.m.

Members of a cappella group Cadenza give a performance for incoming freshman during a welcoming assembly in Shoenecker Arena following their March Through the Arches to celebrate the start of their college journey and the start to the 2019 academic year on September 3, 2019, in St. Paul.
Listen to throwbacks and your favorite pop songs at the Cadenza spring vocal concert! Support this talented group of singers and see all the effort they have been putting in all year. Two concerts are taking place in OEC auditorium. The first is Saturday, May 17, at 7:30 p.m. and the second is Sunday, May 18, at 3:30 p.m. Both shows are free.

May 20 and 22: Schoenecker Center Portfolio Shows

Check out the work of digital media arts and computer science majors at two special shows to end the semester.
Digital media arts seniors will hold a portfolio show, featuring their work in graphic design, web design and content development, on May 20 from 10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. in SCC 219. Computer science students will also join their digital media arts peers for a special exhibition highlighting their work in a creative coding class on May 22 from 10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. in SCC 238.
