100 Scholars Strong: Dougherty Family College Reaches Scholarship Milestone

This year's Excellence Scholarship recipients mark a milestone for DFC. Since the college opened in fall 2017 and presented its first set of associate degrees in spring 2019, it has awarded 100 Excellence Scholarships that cover 100% of tuition when students pursue a bachelor's degree at the University of St. Thomas. Check out the work of digital media arts and computer science majors at two special shows to end the semester. Digital media arts seniors will hold a portfolio show, featuring their work in graphic design, web design and content development, on May 20 from 10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. in SCC 219. Computer science students will also join their digital media arts peers for a special exhibition highlighting their work in a creative coding class on May 22 from 10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. in SCC 238. |

Dr. Yohuru Williams, founding director of the Racial Justice Initiative, spoke to MPR News on racial changes in Minnesota, looking at the last five years since the death of George Floyd.
