Dr. Habiba Hadziavdic, Modern and Classical Languages Department, College of Arts and Sciences, was one of 18 people selected to be a research ambassador for the German Academic Exchange Service. The GAES (also known as Deutscher Akademischer Austausch Dienst – DAAD) is the German national agency for the support of international academic cooperation. The GAES offers programs and funding for students, faculty, researchers and others in higher education. It is similar to the Fulbright program in the United States.
Donna Nix, Marianne Hageman and Janice Kragness, UST Libraries, presented a poster June 9 at the annual conference of the Association of Christian Librarians in St. Paul. Their poster session, titled “Information Literacy: The Bridge from High School to College,” was based on their research on the information literacy skills of students at regional Catholic high schools. They also presented “Information Literacy in the 21st Century” on Aug. 24 at the annual conference of the Minnesota Catholic Education Association in Duluth, Minn.
