Nekima Levy-Pounds
Nekima Levy-Pounds, School of Law, will receive a 2015 Facing Race Ambassador Award from the St. Paul Foundation for "working to build communities where everyone feels safe, valued and respected." She will be honored at the annual banquet April 28 in St. Paul.
Dr. Nathaniel Nelson, Graduate School of Professional Psychology, College of Education, Leadership and Counseling, is the author of an article, “Factors Associated With Inconsistency in Self-reported Mild Traumatic Brain Injury Over Time Among Military Personnel in Iraq," published in The British Journal of Psychiatry, March 2015; 206(3): 237-244.
Dr. Nathaniel Nelson
James Rogers, Center for Irish Studies, College of Arts and Sciences, is the author of chapter in The Catholic Church in Ireland Today, a contributed volume edited by David C. Cochran and John Waldmeir (Rowman and Littlefield, 2015). The book is a proceedings volume for a symposium of the same name held at Loras College in March 2014. Rogers’ chapter, titled “Holy Unpredictable: A Response to Maher and Littleton,” is a response to the keynote addresses by Eamon Maher and John Littleton, two noted authorities on the Irish church. The volume recently was reported on in the Irish Times.
Dr. Bob Werner, professor emeritus, Geography Department, College of Arts and Sciences, is the author of a Kindle book, Travels on the Road of Death and Other Adventures of a Yankee in Bolivia. The book reflects Werner’s travels in the country as he researched his first book about Bolivia.
Dr. Mark Stansbury-O’Donnell, Art History Department, College of Arts and Sciences, is the author of a chapter in The Cambridge History of Painting in the Classical World. The volume, edited by J. J. Pollitt, is the first comprehensive history of Greek painting in over 70 years. The chapter, “Reflections of Monumental Painting in Greek Vase Painting in the Fifth and Fourth Centuries BC,” explores the development of human representation and perspective and includes a 3-D reconstruction of the lost Delphi paintings of Polygnotos.

Dr. Lisa Waldner, Sociology and Criminal Justice Department, College of Arts and Sciences, is the author (with Betty A. Dobratz, Iowa State University) of “The Cultural Repertoire of the White Power Movement in the United States,” in Cultural Dimensions of Far Right Politics and Life-world, edited by C. Miller-Idriss and F. Virchon. Berlin: Springer Verlag. Waldner is also the author of “Sexual Coercion” in The Wiley-Blackwell Encyclopedia of Gender and Sexuality Studies, edited by N. Naples, Oxford: Blackwell Publishing.
Dr. Meg Wilkes Karraker, Sociology and Criminal Justice Department, College of Arts and Sciences, and Family Business Center Fellow, presented two lectures, "The Global Status of Women and Girls: Our Responsibilities as Social Scientists" and "Why Relationships Matter for 'Doing Good' in Organizations," at Andrews University, a university of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Berrian Springs, Michigan.
