Wellness Center Promotes Seat-belt Safety With Window Clings

Young adults ages 18 to 24 have the highest crash-related injury rates of all adults. Wearing a seat belt can reduce greatly the risk of injury or death. The CDC reports that seat belts reduce serious crash-related injuries and deaths by about 50 percent.

To promote safety, the Wellness Center is asking students to place a seat-belt-safety window cling in their cars on the  lower left corner of the driver’s side window  – if possible. Do not block the view of the road or place the cling in a spot that could cause a distraction

Window clings are available from the Wellness Center in the lower level of Koch Commons. The clings display a message about wearing a seat belt when driving or riding in a car. Wellness Center staff members will be on the lookout for the window clings on and around campus. If they spot a cling displayed in your car window, you will receive a free prize from the Wellness Center. Prizes may include a free smoothie from the Pit Stop, a massage gift certificate, a gift card to a local business or some other giveaway.
