STAR welcomes back students Aug. 31-Sept.5

Every fall St. Thomas Activities and Recreation (STAR) welcomes UST students back to campus with five days of free activities and events. Here's a list of the festivities:

Sunday, Aug. 31
Kick off the semester from 2 to 5 p.m. in the upper quad with bungee jumping, caricatures, crafts and much more. Then head over to Foley Plaza at 9 p.m. to watch "Iron Man" and make s'mores.

Tuesday, Sept. 2
Lost in the library? Join STAR at 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. in the O’Shaughnessy-Frey Library Center's Information Commons for library tours. Check out all the hidden study spots and learn about library resources and services. Refreshments will be provided at the end of the tour along with the chance to win fabulous prizes if you solve the mystery.

Wednesday, Sept. 3
STAR presents the movie "Kung Fu Panda" at 9 p.m. in Foley Plaza. Free popcorn!

Thursday, Sept. 4
Tie-dying and music: Never tie dyed? Join STAR in the quad during convo hour on Thursday, Sept. 4. Then wear your newly colored shirt to Scooter's at 7 p.m. and hear singer-songwriter Cary Judd.

Friday, Sept. 5
Multicultural Student Services (MSS) Fun Night: Visit Scooter's from 6:30 p.m. to midnight. Speakers, spoken-world artists and a DJ will wrap up the week!

Visit the STAR Web site at www.stthomas.edu/star if you have questions.
