The Leadership Academy offers variety of courses to build life and work skills

Whether you're a new budget manager and need some help, or you're wondering about your Facebook site …  are worried about your will, your grammar or even your diet … want to shop for some long-term care insurance but don't know what or whom to ask … or need some tips with cranky customers: Leadership Academy has a session for you.

The Leadership Academy, the university's professional development center for faculty and staff, offers skill-building for work and life – because the two are intertwined. A healthy life means more productive work and vice-versa. So there's a great variety of courses to help you make the most of both.

Leadership Academy seminar facilitators this year include more UST faculty and staff as well as outside experts. Some upcoming offerings include "Democratizing Meetings" with adult education expert Stephen Brookfield, Distinguished University Professor at St. Thomas; "Everything a Budget Manager Needs to Know … and More!" with experienced UST budgeteers Karen Harthorn (Purchasing) and Allison Hanson, Terra Penny and Kirsten Muller (Controller's Office); and “Critical Issues in Aging: Financial and Legal Issues” with Licensed Social Worker Lynn Cibuzar.
