Tommie pride was in the air during Homecoming Week. Students, faculty, staff, alumni and families came together for the annual golf cart parade, trivia, bingo, football game and other activities. The lower quad was also bouncing with excitement as students enjoyed inflatables, music and dessert food trucks during Friday Festivities.

The U.S. Air Force ROTC Detachment 410 and the University of St. Thomas chapter of Arnold Air Society, a national professional and service organization, began its 38th annual Veterans Day vigil Nov. 10. Cadets marched slowly and solemnly near the flagpole in the center of the lower quad on the St. Paul campus.

Nov. 14: Hear From National Geographic Explorer

Join Joshua Irwandi, a National Geographic Explorer, and Maia Nuku, Curator for Oceanic Art at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City, for a presentation on documenting change in the Asmat region and revisioning Pacific art exhibitions. The talk is presented by the American Museum of Asmat Art (AMAA) in conjunction with Irwandi's Not a Blank Canvas exhibition now on view in the AMAA. The presentation takes place at 6:30 p.m. on Nov. 14 inside O'Shaughnessy Educational Center auditorium.

Finding Forward and the Luann Dummer Center for Women welcome Grammy-winning artist, author and Minnesota native Dessa for a conversation about the power of storytelling, and much more. Her new book, Bury The Lede: A Cocktail Book, features essays about artist collaborations encased between drink recipes, demonstrating the alchemy behind bringing different ingredients together to create something wholly new.

Dessa will read from her new book, followed by a conversation with Luann Dummer Center for Women Director Dr. Elizabeth Wilkinson.
