Faculty Use AI to Improve Student Learning Experience

How can students in math classes use AI more effectively – and without it becoming an academic integrity headache for faculty? This is a question the 2025 Innovation Fellows addressed in their research: "Using AI to Improve the Student Learning Experience and Reduce Faculty Time Spent on Grading" Team.

Bikes, Cars and Scooters: What to Know

Parked cars
Whether you're driving, biking or using a scooter or campus shuttle to get around St. Thomas, the Parking & Transportation department is here to serve you.

Student Commuter Parking Permits are now available for purchase for both the St. Paul and Minneapolis campuses. Learn more

Personal transportation devices, both electric (e.g., e-scooters, e-bikes, hoverboards) and nonelectric (e.g., bicycles, skateboards, rollerblades) must be stored in university-designated outdoor racks or approved indoor storage areas. Indoor bike storage is available at several designated locations. Learn more

Aug. 21: Celebrate Tim Lewis' Retirement

Tim Lewis
Tim Lewis, the associate vice provost for Global Learning and Strategy, is retiring in early September, and the campus community is invited to wish him farewell and happy retirement adventures. The event is Aug. 21, 2025, from 2-3:30 p.m. on the O'Shaughnessy-Frey Library Plaza. A few of Dr. Lewis' colleagues will offer brief remarks at 2:30.

School of Law Dean Dan Kelly was profiled in Hennepin Lawyer about his journey from Notre Dame to his first year leading the law school.

Mechanical engineering faculty Tiffany Ling and John Wentz were quoted in articles about the School of Engineering's new no-cost boot camp that is launching for machinists this summer. Ling was featured in Twin Cities Business magazine and Wentz in Technical Education Post.
